I did and I am really pissed at the Korean fans there, or other that might have been watching the live and felt the same as the ones in the audience. I’m not pissed at all Korean fans because some Korean fans are really decent and nice, but the ones that are rude as fuck are the ones I am…

As a Korean fan, I don’t like international fans and I don’t think SHINee likes them either. I think they like the Korean fans better. It’s a cultural thing. They feel more comfortable with Korean fans as they understand them better and in turn, are better understood by the fans. Next are non-Korean Asian fans and last of all, Caucasian fans and black fans. Many international fans come across as too aggressive, like the person who wrote this post. Many Western international fans don’t have a sense of humor and many of them are stans, especially Onew’s fans. These fans even invade Minho tagged Tumblr and post bad pictures of him - the same ones all the time - and they also spam it with Onew’s pictures too. They kind of ruined the Minho tag now. You can tell who the real Minho fans who post on the Minho tag are - they don’t keep posting the same boring ugly pics of Minho and they try and find nice pix of him. Unfortunately, they are fewer and fewer as time goes on. You can tell the quality of the international SHINee fandom by Tumblr as mostly international fans use Tumblr. The Korean fan sites for SHINee and for Minho are more tasteful and they do nice artwork and they post nice pictures of SHINee and Minho, and they have nice collections of pix from the past and from the present. Chinese fans also have nice fan websites as well. They also make nice videos.

Non-Minho fans (mostly Onew and Taemin fans) have taken over the Minho Tumblr tag now. Half the posts on the Minho tag have Onew as the avatar so I know these people who spam the Minho tag are Onew’s fans and probably not Minho’s fans.

During the Google Talk, I could sense SHINee felt awkward. SHINee is first and foremost a Korean band, and international fans shouldn’t forget that. Some of them just seem to want to start wars with everyone and diss other people all the time, and attack them over nothing, and expect special treatment. They turned me off from SHINee World. The Korean SHINee World is fine though. I don’t have a problem with other Korean fans. Also, the Chinese and Singaporean fans are nice. I don’t like the western fans very much. They seem to fetishize SHINee too much, are vulgar and behave like stans as I have said. Onew’s fans are the worst. They say things like they will cut someone or they will hurt someone if they do or say something they don’t like.

Korean fans don’t behave like this. International fans (especially Onew’s fans) behave like this all the time.

It made me dislike Onew whom I was neutral about before. Now I don’t want him in SHINee and I want him to take his fans with him if he leaves. I question what kind of person Onew is to attract these kinds of vicious and aggressive fans/stans. I don’t like it how Onew brings these “fans” to SHINee. Makes SHINee seem low-class and common.

Read the post above and pick out the poor grammar and illogical sentence structure. And this was probably written by a native speaker of English.

International fans are sort of spoiling SHINee for me. They kind of make SHINee look cheap. As I have said, they ‘fetishize’ SHINee.

I wish SHINee had stayed a Korean group mostly or an Asian pop group.

This is exactly my point. Most of the Korean fans like you do this to us international fans all the time. I admit that we international fans have those that treat SHINee horribly, but not all of us are like that. You can dislike us however you please, but who are you to say that SHINee dislikes us. Yeah, the lanuage barrier can make things ackward, but do you think that SHINee was the only one that felt awkward? They couldn’t understand (save from Onew and Key) the fans in that live and the fans couldn’t understand them. I agree that they prefer Korean fans more, but because they can understand them and communicate with them better. I don’t see how people assume that they dislike us international fans.

Aggressive… I see. I’m just going to throw that on the list of things that Korean fans, like you, think of us.

As I stated in my post, you are able to take nice pictures of SHINee, so it’s a given that they are nicer. Some international fans post “ugly” picture of them, but most of us don’t. If anything, we have to deal with the tons of “do not edit” or “do not crop” that is every where. We respect that, but it get’s annoying when you try to make a nice edit SHINee and can’t because of the “do not edit” and “do not crop.”

And most international fans use Tumblr because we can’t understand anything on the fansites. So, we look for information and such on Tumblr that people (who can translate for us non-Korean speaking fans) have kindly taken the time to translate.

So, if I have a picture of Taemin as my avatar, I can’t be a fan of Jonghyun? Is that what you are trying to say about those who have Onew as their avatar, but post in the Minho tag? Right… I forgot how serious most Korean fans take their “liking one person from SHINee” or “Being a fan of SHINee.” Well, let me tell you that it is okay to have more than one bias in SHINee.

You must’ve only seen horrible stans then because not all stans act like that. And who are you to say that we act horribly when you have sasaeng fans?

I’m not even going to comment on the “I don’t like Onew” thing.

Like I said, not all international fans act like you think they do and “Korean fans don’t behave like that”? Hypocritical much?

What does my grammer have to do with shit, to be honest? Is this a post about who has the better grammar? No, it isn’t. And If we are spoiling SHINee for you, then you are free to leave the fandom.

This just hurts every bit of my heart. You don’t even know. International fans work so hard to be respectful and love our group across AN OCEAN. There shouldn’t even be a Korean > International fan fight because it comes down to this: WE ARE ALL SHAWOLS. WE ARE ALL IN LOVE WITH THE SAME 5 BOYS AND THE SAME MUSIC. This shouldn’t even be a problem.

AMEN

Ok first of all, it’s irrelevant whether or not SHINee are “more comfortable” with Korean fans because the fact is, SHINee have international fans and a lot of them. International fans don’t get to go to fan meetings or concerts or other events, most of us can’t understand me2day or kakaotalk, and we need subtitles to understand tv shows and interviews.

Websites like Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook are really the only means of connection to our groups and other fans. I live in Ireland which has a tiny amount of kpop fans, and there’s pretty much no chance of SHINee ever playing a show here. So I use Tumblr to get information or watch interviews or talk to other people that love SHINee as much as I do because I don’t get the opportunity where I live. It’s no one’s fault that I happen to love a group that are based thousands of miles away from where I live, but please don’t be so selfish as to complain when I try and be a part of the Shawol community in the best way that I can.

Imagine loving these people so much, devoting so much time and money, and then never being able to see them or meet them and tell them how much they’ve changed your life. This is not a unique situation for me, or even for international Shawols, it’s something every kpop fan outside of Asia has to deal with, but we do deal with it because we love kpop. And that’s my point, I suppose - international fans love their idols just as much as Korean fans, just in a different way. We reblog pictures and videos in place of actually getting to go to their concerts and see them in person. This is the only way we get to talk to each other and support each other, and to complain that international fans are “spoiling SHINee” because of Tumblr tags or fanart that you don’t particularly like is ridiculous. What do you want us to do? There is no fanclub for international fans, this is it.

Please realise how lucky you are to live in Korea, to get to see SHINee, meet them, have friends who actually know who they are and love them too. To not have to pay crazy amounts of shipping to get merch or albums, to be able to belong to a proper fanclub, a community that most of us do not have. To be able to stand in a crowd and wave your light stick and scream lyrics and have your idols stand right in front of you. I’m sure international fans can be annoying at times, but have some empathy because really, this is all we have.

I don’t see how that Korean fan up there can say that “Korean fans don’t behave like that” when its the Korean saesang fans that are injuring, or being really creepy toward the members! You don’t hear any cases of international fans attacking idols at airports do you? NO. Because first of all, we don’t get to go to concerts, fan meetings, or album signing like you Korean fans do. Second of all, WE WOULDN’T DO THAT ANYWAY. Saesang fans piss me the hell off.

I don’t see how you can call yourself a Shawol if you think that Onew shouldn’t be a part of the group. I am not saying that you need to love Onew, but you need to at least respect him. He is the leader of SHINee and the group would not be anywhere near the same without him.. He works HARD for that group and saying that he should leave SHINee is probably one of the most disrespectful things you could say. You say that SHINee doesn’t like us international fans, but think about how well they would like YOU after hearing what you just said about Onew.

I am not saying that there are not some international fans who do not go over the top sometimes, too, but that does not give you the right to stereotype ALL of us as being like that. And also, who do you think you are saying that SHINee doesn’t like their international fans?

If you don’t love and accept SHINee the way they are, you can kindly leave the fandom. I don’t think anyone will object.
